It’s been almost eight years since I packed up my life in Barcelona and moved to Toronto, and honestly, that decision changed everything about how I see the world and what I wanted to create in it. I had just finished my master’s degree in Fashion and I felt this pull to go somewhere new, to stop being comfortable.

Toronto gave me ambition, pace, a drive I didn’t know I had. But the Mediterranean never left me. The way I was raised, that slower, more intentional way of moving through life, stayed in my bones. And the longer I lived here, the more I noticed what was missing, not just in my wardrobe, but in the way we dress and the way we live.

That’s where Besson came from. Not from wanting to create another fashion brand, but from wanting to hold on to a way of life. One where quality matters more than quantity, beautiful things are worn often, and getting dressed feels chic without trying.

Besson lives between those two worlds. The ambition and energy I found in Toronto, and the ease, beauty, and enjoyment I grew up with in Barcelona.

The swimsuit became the symbol of it. A piece designed to move naturally through the day, without asking you to stop and change along the way.

Everything is produced in Toronto in a responsible atelier, using high end Italian fabrics that feel good on the body and hold you without squeezing. I obsessed over the cut, the neckline, the back, how it fits in real life and not just on Instagram. They are meant to last, to be styled your way and to come back with you every season.

As Besson grows, part of that journey is taking me back home. Future collections will also be produced in Barcelona, working with one of the country's most experienced swimwear ateliers.

More than anything, I want you to feel like you’re keeping a little piece of the Mediterranean with you. Not loud, not overdone. Just beautiful in a way that feels like you.
